JVC gr-d70 connection / uploading

I have installed all the drivers and imagemixers that came with the camcorder. Whenever i open imagemixer the program closes itself and wont let me back in.
I have tried uploading videos with windows movie maker and error message "could not find a compatible digial video device" appears.
I have windows vista and am using usb connection.
Please help.

Wrong connection! you must use firewire to stream video and audio from your cam-make sure comp has connection-called 1394-on cam it's called dv and get proper cable and you will be fine-usb only for pics

JVC gr-d70 connection / uploading
open up device manager, right click on your computer icon and select manage, on the management window on the left side select device manager.

find your camera from the device list, note if it has a yellow ! mark or similiar. if a ! is present double click on the camera to get to see the device status info.

ImageMixer 1.7 for camera JVC does not work with Vista
I had exactly the same problem. I was using a USB cable, as I had done with Windows XP. However, when I tried using a DV cable instead it worked no problem at all, and i was able to use Windows Movie Maker, so no need to install ImageMixer. Hope this helps. Tony

Cam corder
I have the same camera and the original CD ROM. You need ImageMixer 1.7; it handles both USB and IEEE1394 (FireWire) transfers. The only place I've found to get it is from JVC
