Windows 7? why not first tell us the OS,
what words are in the crashed BSOD page.
let me guess, Fn+F4 and not F4
the former is turning on the external VGA jack , doing that?
i do not have enough facts presented by you to guess.
or show tests.
tell me:
1: is the RTC coin cell bad?
2: did you upgrade this from w7 to w10 with no support from HP?
3: did you test it with the bad main battery left out first, on AC power only this be like first a 5min job or less, falling off the log easy.?
4: did the external screen work, ? my guess Fn+F4
5: turn off sleep and hibernate in control panel , + power
run ok now? with all that off? be super good if yes,
now you can use it now, and later fix all the missing HP drivers later.
you know , right the driver are a 3 way match !?
match HP model.
match OS
and match the chip not working exactly

and these laptops are sold with like over 20 motherboard
different chips on them all
GPU
CPU
sound
NIC
Wifi and ill stop here there is more,, on topic of options
now I will tell you what you did wrong.
1: not asking HP for help, sorry Fixya is not HP not in the least.
2: not posting your full service tag data. so the poor help
has a clue what you bought new.

I need the 1,3,5 lines seen here.

http://pcdied.com/

if you upgraded your pc to a new OS, now be the time to spill those bean, no>?
sorry cant guess what you own, nor what OS is there,
not now , or ever.

here is blind easy fix.. on all HP 2006 to todays.
power on, and hammer F11 key, bingo recovery mode.
and do a full recovery. (be data backed up first) ask or search.
if that fails, the HDD is bad or corrupted or slammed by the bad guy.

SOURCE: I can't turn on webcam.I don't know how it turned

To turn on webcam in HP 6930p Elitebook:
1. Go to QuickPlay (press the blue-lighted button above the F3 key (or next to the power button)).
2. When QuickPlay shows up, there is a row of six icons across the bottom of the screen: click on the second one from the left (the one with the photo-movie_reel-music_notes).
3. A window with three 'frames' shows up. On the left frame there are six items: the fifth one should say 'HP Webcam'. Click on it.
4. The webcam's blue LED light should now be turned on. There should be a rectangle with dimensions of ratio 1:2 which should show what the camera is sensing.
5. There is a row of seven buttons above that rectangle: the seventh is for taking snapshots and the sixth for recording videos.

SOURCE: I have forgotten BIOS password on my HP Elitebook 6930P

If the computer you are servicing has an unknown user password, follow these steps to clear the
password:
NOTE: These steps also clear CMOS.
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 44).
5. Remove the real-time clock (RTC) battery (see RTC battery on page 66).
6. Wait approximately 5 minutes.
7. Replace the RTC battery and reassemble the computer.
8. Connect AC power to the computer. Do not reinsert any batteries at this time.
9. Turn on the computer.
All passwords and all CMOS settings have been cleared.

6930 black screen

Try connecting it to an external monitor if possible.

You can use the VGA connector on your laptop to connect it to the Monitor.

restart the laptop and see if it comes up on the external monitor.

If it does show on the external monitor, It's probably the laptop screen going bad. and they ain't cheap. here's a link to a screen on Amazon, just to give you an idea...
Amazon com HP EliteBook 6930p Laptop Screen 14 1 LCD CCFL WXGA 1280x800...

If it still doesn't show, Hold down the function key and press the CRT/LCD button (Usually F8) to see if you can cycle between the external and the laptop monitor..

Hope this helps

I reciently installed a bigger HD and now I get the"blue screen from hell"!! How can I get it to boot on the new HD?,Ray

did you format the hard drive first?
typically you need to format the hard drive using the NTFS file system before you install your operating system.

does your bios recognize the hard drive?
make sure your bios detects the hard drive.

can you boot your computer in Safe Mode? If so, do that and use your error log to find the specific cause of the blue screen,

lastly post the blue screen error message on here to get a better answer.
