Brake Light Stays On

The brake light is always on. I checked the light bulb and both filaments are energized. I'm wondering if it's a bad switch or a diagnostics tool to perhaps indicate a brake job is needed?

I just had the same thing. The brake light actuarer in inside the brake lever on the bars. If the lever is worn, the actuator moves aside and the brake light stays on. Remove the brake lever and push the little black switch. If the brake light goes out replace the lever and actuator.

1978 Jeep CJ5. When brakes are applied interior, side marker, and park/running lights all come on. Where is the problem?

There is a short or badly installed light bulb in the rear brake light housing. Those bulbs use both running lights and brake light filaments and if a filament shorts to the other filament or they are installed wrong, pressing the brake pedal energizes the brake light and inturn the running lights.

If the break lights in my 1986 c corvette works but the tail lights do not, what could be the cause

Blown fuse ,bad headlight switch,or wiring issue.
the tail lights have there own fuse and are powered through headlight switch. Do the front running lights come on? If none of them work, switch could be bad if front work and rears dont, check bulbs and power to them when lights are on

THE PROBLEM HAVING BRAKE LIGHT ON 2001 CHYSLER CONCORDE STAY ON BEFORE YOU PRESS THE BRAKE

You might want to look at the filaments in the affected bulb. a broken filament can touch the brake filament and cause it to light the brake lite to come on. Test it by turning on the lites and observe the light bulbs . If the brake lites are on replace the bulb. Next ..turn off the lites and check the lites again. If all are off step on the brake pedal once and recheck the lites. If they are on the switch on the brake pedal is bad.

My brake light is on while driving and my turn signal lights are not coming on

there are several causes, check bulbs first. A crossed filament in a bulb can cause similar problems. The brake & turn use the same filament so if the brake lights are on, due to a bad switch underdash, the turn signals won't work.

The brake light won't come on but the other parts of the rear lights do

Back Brake won't light brake light.

Check your connections. Your ground may have come loose. Your bulbs could be bad. Harleys tend to vibrate alot It is very common for them to shake loose a connection. Your rear bulbs have 2 filaments in them. the tail light will still light up but is the second filament is blown out the brake light will not light up.

Brake lights will not come on. It is not the bulb. The tail lights work.

The tail lights working would not necessarily mean that the brake light bulbs are good. If they are the type that have a double filament (ie: one filament for the tail light and another filament for the brake light ) the brake light filament could be bad and the tail lights still would work. If they are either single filament type bulbs or double filament type, I would check the bulb, fuses, and contact switch on the brake pedal.

Rear window break light

You either have a 'single filament' bulb installed in a 'dual filament' brake lamp socket ... OR .. you have a 'dual filament' bulb short circuited internally. Check your rear brake lamp bulbs (supposed to be 'dual filament' - two contacts on their bottoms). When you step on the brake pedal, do your dash lights LIGHT UP? A 'cross circuit' exists between brake lamp circuit and parking lamps circuit.

Brake light dont work

check the fuse for the brake lights. The brake lights and siganl lights use the same bulb filament. The parking and running lights use a dimmer filament in the bulb. There are 2 filaments.
Your brake lights work through the multifunction switch which operates the signal lights. If the signal lights work, you may have a bad brake lamp switch which is on your brake pedal arm.
