What does Ad code mean on front load dryer - Frigidaire Dryers

I believe that code means auto dry. Lets make sure the lint and dust is clear from the machine. Check all of your wiring out well since is generally a cause. You may ave to replace the thermistor. Have you gotten any other code along with this.

The AD you see means Auto Dry and is not an error code.

AD is a indication of board problems.I would unplug the unit for 20 minutes to see if unit will reset

This indicates there is an error with the door lock mechanism. It will most likely need to be replaced. This will prevent the dryer from working and is a safety feature to prevent injury while the dryer is in operation. It is fairly quick and cheap to repair.

During normal operation, the display may show: “ad” - dryer is in an auto dry cycle. “dn” - cycle is done in auto dry. “PF” - a power failure to the board has occurred. “Err” - an error has been detected. “LOC” - control lock is activated. “PAU” - cycle has been interrupted.

AD means "auto dry", which means the dryer is supposed to be detecting the moisture levels in your clothing and adjusting the drying time accordingly.

If your dryer is flashing "AD" and turning off shortly after the start, there is likely a problem with the mechanism designed to detecting the moisture levels. If it turns off after trying to use all various settings (including the no-heat feature), it is likely a wiring issue.

Check your breakers. Mine was doing the same thing, all of the 120v parts of the machine were working. (blower/drum motor/ lights) However the element wasn't coming on. Went to the breaker and found that one side of the 2 pole breaker was tripped. Turned both off and back on. Heater started working again.

Moisture sensor, heat sensor etc. (THAT IS WHAT TURNS ON YOUR AD SETTING) Normally it selects a time based on factory settings that it believes your load should be dried by. Say 50 minutes at Normal (high heat, normal) Every so often during the cycle, the machine will check the humidity sensor and the other sensors and try to see if the dryer is still on schedule. Sometimes it will determine that more time is needed, occasionally less time. While it calculates, it displays the Ad meaning that the machine is on auto dry. TO TURN OFF AUTO DRY, set it to a time setting instead of a DESCRIPTION setting.

I HAVE A FRIGIDAIRE AFFINITY DRYER (AEQ6000CE32). WHENEVER I PUT THE CLOTHES IN IT JUST SPINS FOR 10 TO 15 MINUTES AND SHUTS OFF BEFORE THE ALLOTTED TIME. THERE IS NO HEAT IN THE DRYER. ANY SLOUTIONS?
