hello if you bought your 3gs cover with the insurance ,But its normally insured , you can use the insurance for this kind of damage..Am in Tokyo here iphone 3gs has insurance not only 3gs all mobiles is covered with insurance..Depends just try ,what i know they wont charge u much just bring it to the iphone shop they will repair it ,if ur mobile has warranty they wont charge you much It happens to me and they didnt charge me because it covers with the insurance..I wish same in ur place..
