I have a Sony BDP-S350. It will not play many blue rays that are playing in my friends/associates samsung and panasonic blue rays. I even took the DVD 's into best buy, and it played in today's model of Sony blue ray. These are blue rays created in the post production business, via online editing systems, not commercially created blue rays. But they should still play. They do in every other machine. I updated the firmware about 4 months ago. That seemed to work on that particular blue ray I was playing at the time. What do I do?

I'm sorry to inform you that the Blu-ray player does not have the feature to stream videos from Netflix. The network connection on the player is used for watching BD Live content from the playing disc and network update.
Thanks for understanding.
Please let me know if you require any clarifications.
is that the only disc that wont play? have you tried inserting memory stick on bd player. format memory stick (atleast 2gb) first to fat 32 using computer. insert to usb slot of bd player. then try to play the disc again...
Hi:
This is due to a faulty optics lens or mech assembly, the laser used for normal DVS's are red but when Blue ray is inserted the laster uses blue light or blue laser, you may have a defective laser.
has it ever played blu-ray's properly any odd issues leading to this problem and it could be a weakened laser these are just more expensive dvd players that are just as prone to wearing out hope this helps you:)
The most likely cause of your frustration with the BDP-S350 is that your player's firmware is not the most current. I have the same model, and had similar problems with Blue Ray Discs like 'Wall-E'.
The solution is to go to sony's website, download the firmware upgrade, burn it to a disc and then load the disc into the player to fix it.

The software updates for your Sony BDP-S350 can be found at their website here. You will need to download the file, burn it to a disc and then load the disc into your player to upgrade its software to play your new blu-ray movie.
Ok EVERYONE. After emailing Sony Pictures, I took the second copy back to Fred Meyers put it in their active BluRay display player. I have a Sony BDP-S300 right at a year from purchase, they had a Sony BDP-S350 and my disk that did not work - played fine even past the eagle. I came home Downloaded and installed a Firmware update. Now my copy of Hancock that did not work works fine.. The simple answer is Update your Firmware
