Suggestion:
1) Use the free version of Revo Uninstaller to uninstall iTunes.

3) Run the free version of CCleaner

5) Make sure your Windows system is supported by the version of iTunes you are installing. Recommend downloading latest version of iTunes from https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
6) Disable any anti-virus/anti-malware
7) Install iTunes
8) Reboot
9) Enable any anti-virus/anti-m,alware (if not already enabled)

If that doesn't work, create a new Windows profile, and repeat steps 4-9. If iTunes runs in the new Windows profile, your original profile may be the problem - not iTunes.

Can you tell me which operating system do you have?

What you can try is that you can disable the Anti virus program of your computer once and then try.

Also make sure that the USB cable is plugged in the back of your cabinet and not in the front

What OS and what Anti Virus program are you running?
The OS will recognize some AV products and not others. You can tell the Operating system you will monitor the Anti-Virus software yourself.

Possible bad modem and or i would remove any and all current Anti Virus spyware progs and install Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 free download also Malwarebytes from Malwarebytes.Org. Do a full scan w/ both of these programs!

First, have you made sure that you are current with Windows Update patches and fixes? There are a bunch of nasty bugs in Outlook Express that can leave you open to attacks from specially formatted emails -- with or without attachments.
