When I close my side x side frig the freezer door pops open

This happens because the refrigerators of today are air tight, the fresh food door pushes the air into the cabinet as it closes and the air has no place to go but up the air vent into the freezer and "pops" open the freezer door. First thing is make sure the freezer door is capable of closing properly and is not rubbing or catching anywhere. I sometimes add a washer or 2 to the center hinge under the freezer door so it doesn't rub anything. Put a little Vaseline ( or food grade silicone lubricant ) on the hinge side of the seal. I then raise the front of the refrigerator so that the front of the refrigerator is a little higher than the back of the refrigerator. Never level a fridge with a level. Once you have the door closing properly and front slightly higher than the back...let the fresh food door close from 90 degrees on it's own and the freezer door may "pop" open a little but will close again on it's own...and stay closed once all is set up properly. We see this more often now and have no trouble with the door staying open again after setting up the refrigerator properly.

My 18 year old refrigerator GE model TFX24FG freezer side is not keeping food frozen. Refrigerator side seems to be working normally.

The refrigerator side is at present working properly , but slowly slowly, it will also loose its cooling. This will happen because, freezer side is the side which cools first, then the refrigerator side ( also called as fridge side)., gets cooled. If freezer side is not cooling / freezing properly then fridge side will also loose its cooling ability.------------ And later on both section will loose its cooling.----------- As per the present situation, it indicates problem with compressor or problem with freezer side door not closing properly.---------- Or the temperature in freezer section is not set to proper cooling/ freezing.--------- So first inspect temperature, is it set right? If ok, then check the freezer door , is it properly closed? If ok, then its compressor problem.? The compressor is running non stop, this is indication of compressor problem.---------- Click this link below for more help:--- http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/06/both-refrigerator-and-freezer-not.html ----------- Later on both section will loose its cooling. -------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

GE profile freezer door pops open

If you close any refrig door " fast " , the other will pop open . These magnetic door gaskets , are designed for lighter holding power now , than they used to be , due to children getting caught inside . I would suggest lowering the front legs slightly , so that when you let go of the door , it will close slowly on its own .

Maytag MTB2156GEW Freezer works but refrigerator (lower part) not

Is the freezer fan working ? Is there frost on the rear wall , inside the freezer section ? If frost , in the middle of the control panel , you will see a hole slightly larger (1/2 " ) . Insert a screwdriver slightly into this hole and turn slowly until you hear a click slightly louder than the rest . Once you hear this click , stop . The freezer fan should be off ( you set it into the defrost cycle ) . Close the fridge door . Using a short extension cord with all 3 wires split (without bare wire showing) check the amps . 2 to 5 amps is good , this would indicate the heater and bimetal are good , also , indicates that the timer is probably bad . If you get no reading on the amp meter , then either the bimetal or heater is bad . Remove the inside rear freezer panel . Trace the heater wires (1 on each side) and disconnect . Useing an ohm meter , or beep meter (tells continuity) , test the 2 heater wires for continuiny . No continuity , replace the heater
pt # 61002046 . If continuity thru heater , then bimetal is bad (small disk clipped onto the coils , with 2 wires attached . Pt # 61005254 .

Doors creak loudly when closed and pushed from the outside. Don't when open.

This short solution may help solve your creaking problem. Putting vaseline insid the hinge pins too is a good idea.

Door to refrigerator will not close properly.

The refrigerator door seal is being broken when you open the freezer door? Sounds like the rubber magnetic strip needs to be replaced on the refrig. door, they wear out after a number of years.

Top freezer opens when lower door is shut

This could be the door rubbers, try boiling some water and pour it slowly over the rubber,it would turn soft and wold return to the original state.

now close the door and with a hair dryer set on hot, blow on the rubber untill it seals all over.
let the door stand close for at least 6 ours...

Let me know if it worked..

Good luck.

LG bottom freezer

Sounds like the refrigerator is sitting lopsided.  Make sure that the front legs are both retracted in the up position.  If it doesn't work, then lower the front leg on the hinge side of the refrigerator.  That will cause the frame to lift the door and it should be able to close properly.
