Bosch Classixx 1000: Won't drain

Hello,

I've just done a wash in our Bosch Classixx 1000 (or thought I had). At the end of the wash, the 'End' light was flashing, which it had never done before. When I opened the machine, I saw that it had failed to drain. I tried the 'drain' option, and the machine seemed to be trying, but it failed to drain. I tried the 'spin' option but again nothing happened. I have removed the clothes, and left manually removed most of the water - about 30 mug-fulls.

Can anybody help? Very many thanks.

My machine won't drain either - the first thing I noticed was that the "spin" light flashed and the machine beeped intermittently at me and refused to spin. I managed to manually drain off the excess water and the machine then decided to spin...but it' still not draining and makes a funny churning sort of noise when it tries to drain. Has anyone got any ideas as to how to fix this please, or which process of elimination to go through to assess where the problem might be?

The Solution: Top up the softener tray with extra water so that it is up to the 'max level' mark.

The softener tray works by a siphon action. Thus, the reason the tray does not empty is that not enough water is added by the machine during the softening cycle, so that the machine does not completely fill the softening tray; only when the softening tray is filled beyond the 'max' mark does the siphon action works. A partially filled tray will never empty - it's impossible due to the siphon.

The reason that not enough water is added to the tray during the softening action is that the water inlet of the machine is partial blocked (you can try to fix that) but it is simpler to just added more water to the conditioner tray.

Thus, the easiest way to ensure that the softener tray empties every time (after adding the softener to the softener tray of course) is to top up the softener tray with extra water, top it up to the 'max level' line (keep a bottle of water by the machine). That way, even if only a little water is added to the softener tray during the softening cycle by the machine it is enough to trigger the siphon action and the tray will empty!

Works for me every time, and no need to remove any parts - I used to take the tray out, clean it, scrub the outlet holes that fill the tray etc, but they used to gum up again quite quickly!

Hope that helps

I'm QGobn again - I found that using a largish cable tie and poking it right in and up into the water feed slots (that feed the softener tray) works really well at unblocking the water feed pipe. I presume gunge builds up in the feed pipe. The cable tie has the ideal properties of being flexible yet stiff.

Check out your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean(ref manual). There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

If the above fails, check to see if your pump is blocked.

Down the bottom front on the right hand side there is a small panel that open to reveal the drainage filter.
Remove the panel and place a shallow tray under the filter. Twist the filter gently anti clock wise - you will find water starts to come out. By repeatedly filling/emptying the tray until all the water is drained.

Remove the filter and feel if there is any foreign objects in there that may stop the drain impeller from turning. There was a broken zipper tag in mine!

Replace and try a spin cycle.

My bosch classixx 1000 washing machine is not spinning at the end of the wash cycle, and when set to spin it does not spin, what can i do?

Remove belt, unscrew 2 bolts that hold the motor, unplug the motor connector, lever the motor back with a screwdriver. Check the motor brushes, if they are any shorter than 1 cm replace brushes.

Bosch classixx 1200 fills, drains, but won't wash ?

This a classic example of worn brushes in the motor.
To check , remove rear panel, remove drive belt.
Unplug motor lead, undo 2 screws that secure motor, and lever motor back with a screwdriver or similar.
Keep hold of the motor as you lever it back.
You will find the brushes at the terminal end of the motor, replace if less than 4=5 mm in length.
Refit motor belt and motor plug.Test. before you refit panel
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

My washing machine - bosch classixx 1000 express - doesn't drain at the end of the wash cycle.

99% of the time the "lid switch" is broken... Open lid and stick a pen down in the lid switch hole to see if it "clicks"... You can also reach your hand around and feel if it is broken...

Parts shipped to you from;

http://www.gofarappliance.com/parts

Please have your model number handy..

If switch seems ok, give me the model number of washer so I can pull it up on my computer..

Thanks,

Brian.......
