Whether you are ready to upgrade your blackberry, give it to someone else or throw it out all together, you should make sure that any personal data has been removed first. Here's an easy way to ensure that you are not throwing out, giving away, or selling a phone with your data still on it.

  • 1

From your blackberry, scroll down to the options icon. (This is the icon shaped like a wrench) Push in the trackball or the scroll wheel to select this.

  • 2

Once you are in the options menu, scroll down to the security option and press in the trackball or scroll wheel to enter into the security options menu.

  • 3

Once in the security options menu, locate the general settings option and press in the trackball or scroll wheel to enter the general settings menu.

  • 4

Great! Now you should be in the General Settings menu. At this point you can press the menu button on the blackberry. Its the button next to the green phone button. Once you press the menu button on the blackberry, you will see a menu come up. scroll to the "Wipe Handheld" option and press in the trackbacll or scroll wheel to confirm your selection. There will also be an option to remove all 3rd party applications. Check this option to remove those as well.

I want to clear all contacts on verizon blackberry curve

You can do a master reset which will wipe everything from the phone and reset to factory settings, the way it was when it was brand new.

To reset the phone back to factory state:

Go to Options -> Security Options -> General Settings

Press the BlackBerry Menu key and select "Wipe Handheld." Then it will ask you to enter the word "blackberry" just to make sure you really want to perform the reset, so type in "blackberry" and the phone will do the hard reset. Give it the time it needs to boot back up, and do not interrupt it or take the battery out. That would cause harm to the phone. Otherwise, you'll be all set!
