Re: HP 8500 Color Laser Printer- problem priting reds
The basic causes for this problem is either the foil is bad or weak. secondly the element in the fuser unit doesnt heat properly so try replacing it with a working one n see what happends.

Hi,
1> Please check it color setting. Go to Control panel and printer option choose and right click go to printer property and color section check it only other color setting or not, better default setting and save it.
2> Printer cartridge removed and clean soft hand and proper connect again.
3> Have you printer driver then old driver removed and again reinstalled printer software.
4> Installation before removed infected virus in PC.
Dirty mirrors will gives you dull color images..It seems color combination faulty..
chk original cartridges installed? or refilled cartridges?
Take supply status page..
chk colors..If color is dull(light) clean laser scanner assembly mirrors.
Do the color calibration..
chk drivers.,
Print from other file..
I presume the LCD screen on the printer also shows that there is toner. Take the toner out and reinsert it. If that doesn't work use the hp software to troubleshoot it may give more information.
the red color contains the blue and magenta colors so your problem is not printing blue insted of red , your red laser miror is dirty from inside you should open the back of the printer then open the laser scaner then clean it then replace it
Have you thought about having your printer cartridges refilled? There are huge savings to be made in doing so and the quality can be just as good as the original cartridges (depending upon the refiller). Another option would be for you to purchase an older color laser printer such as the HP Color Laserjet 4500 or 4550. I use one myself and couldnt be happier with it. And as its an older printer, you can get the cartridges relatively cheap.
It's normally caused by dirty scanner mirrors, the machine will need to be dissembled, the laser scanner unit removed, taken apart and the mirrors cleaned. Unfortunately it is quite fiddly getting the scanner unit out, but this is a very common problem for the HP colour laserjet 2600's If you want the service manual it can be downloaded from the following link free of charge http://www.eserviceinfo.com/equipment_mfg/HP_22.html
Thanks. What is the foil and can I replace it?
I have put a new drum kit and a new transfer kit in the HP 8500.
I have a replacement fuser in stock and ready to install. Would a weak fuser only have problems with red?
