White dots are caused by the DLP chip failing. This part must be replaced to get rid of the white dots. Samsung is covering the cost to repair this problem on several models. Ypu can call 1-800-samsung to find if your unit is covered.

My Samsung DLP TV mod SP61K3HDX/XAXX started with a white dot, and adds about 1 a day. I called the very helpful 1-800-SAMSUNG line, but because I bought it in Mexico (when I was living there in 2007) they cannot officially service it here, so I need to find my own technician who can hopefully replace the offending parts. They did admit they had issues on the under 50 inch models for 07-08 and apparently made those repairs.

My mitsubishi 65in tv has a lot of small white dots on the screen what causes this?

projection tvs can display white dots from the dust that is on the reflector mirror your lamp shines the picture on before it is reflected onto the front screen of your tv, one must be very careful when cleaning this, may be worth a service man doing it for you

Light bulb

White dot for DLP Projector TV is not because of the light buy. It is caused by aging DLP chip ( DMD Chip.) Your TV DLP Part should be the following image:

My projector is showing multiple white dots, looks like lots of small stars all over the screen when projected to screens. is this mean I need to replace the lamp? TDP-XP1 model.

The link to the article explains the the cause of the white syndrome none of the previous internet experts have a correct solution. I have the same problem the link to the article attached is for a Mitsubishi projector but all the chips are the same. http://www.fixyourdlp.com/2012/04/26/solve-the-mitsubishi-white-dot-problem-for-under-200/

I have white dots appearing on my samsung dlp.

If the white spots are appearing in different spots or "Moving" it is the DMD board beginning to fail. Samsung DLPs seem to have a lot of DMD board failures. I would expect it to completely fail in the next couple months.

If there are only a couple small white spots that never go away it could be a mirror that is seized on the chip, but it's far more likely that the DMD board is going bad.
