Three small white dots have appeared on the screen. What does it mean, is the lamp going bad?

My Samsung DLP TV mod SP61K3HDX/XAXX started with a white dot, and adds about 1 a day. I called the very helpful 1-800-SAMSUNG line, but because I bought it in Mexico (when I was living there in 2007) they cannot officially service it here, so I need to find my own technician who can hopefully replace the offending parts.
