Steam cycle runs on every setting

I have an LG Tromm 4.0 front loading steam washer (WM2688H*M) that steams my clothing on every cycle, even delicates and handwashables? I understand this is not supposed to happen, any ideas on how to fix it?

    Hi Sgt.48,

Thaks for the info. I did what you said and ran a delicate cycle, while it was running I pushed the wash/rise and soil level buttons and saw the viewing data in the 2nd column and 2nd row, it read 28-29.

I'm not sure what the recirculatting pump you refer to is supposed to do, can you explain. Also, at closer inspection of the hook-ups, I noticed that the lines from the wall seem to be crossed. The tap that feels very hot is connected to the back of the machine labled cold and vice versa for the cold tap.

I don't know if swithching these will solve the problem b/c everything seems to be being washed w/ hot water (maybe it's not the steam).

Thank you for helping me w/ this, LG had no suggestions at!

I'd be greatful for any further assistance.

The steam will only run on certain cycles. If you look at your dial you will see a pink line which indicates which one. Your unit does have a recirculatting pump, maybe you are confusing the two. One way to check is to run a delicate cycle. During the operation press the wash/rinse and soil level buttons together. Hold them, a display will pop up with readings in the second coloumn, and second row it will display the tempurature of the steam generator in ceilsus. This will confirm whether or not it is on.

When i wash it smells like rooting eggs i tryed bleach and the tablets but smells up the hole house what wrong its a lg tromm wm-2487hwm steam washer

I had the same problem. You must take out your clothes immediately and leave the door open after every wash to let the inside of the washer completely dry. I believe I read to run a cycle of bleach water and wipe down the inside of the door and interior with bleach/water mixture. Then let it dry. You then can start washing your clothes again, but you must be diligent about leaving the door open to air out between washings.Hope this works for you. I almost sold my machines shortly after I bought them because my clothes were always smelly after washing. Leaving the door open has worked for us.

LG tromm mold smell.

Hi

Try using bleach with hot water, run a cycle with hot water and bleach. Or spray bleach +water mixture on the seal. Run a cleaning cycle with hot water and bleach or vinegar at least once a month to reduce the growth of mold in other parts of the washer. You can also try using 1/2 a cup of Washing Soda or 4 cups of baking soda Crystals and run the machine with no clothes in it. This would remove all the debris, lint & mold growth from the drain pump and drain filter. This would clean the mold from the door seal as well. Please post back for further assistance. Hope this helps...

An OE light comes on and the washer won't drain

I had something similar. It turned out that one of the option keys was stuck in an "in" position (did not jump back out after it was pressed) which disabled the functions of all the other keys. The lights in main dial came on but it was not possible to do anything else.

I have a front load LG washing machine. Its two years old and it stopped working today and it is giving a code of TE on the read out. what does this mean? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

TE is a Thermistor error.

This can be a shorted Thermistor and or a bad heater element. These items are located at the front bottom of the washer's tub.

If you have a washer with steam function. It could also be the steam generator's thermistor and or a bad heater element. The steam generator is located just behind the dispenser’s housing on the top left side.

I can get you part numbers is you need them.

New LG WM2688H*M Steam Washer

Your load is unbalanced, at least that is what is sounds like. Have you taken out all the shipping bolts?

These washers and dryers hold very little clothing, 3-4 pair of jeans or less if the person is really large and maybe three regular sized thick bath towels since they weight so much when wet. You must make sure you are not overloading your machines when in use.

Good luck and if you keep having problems I would take a look at the manual and call customer service to report this issue to them. Make sure you get a repair number for your records.
