I am a non-techie and bought a new laptop with Vista. I am surprised my Outlook 2003 doesn't work on Vista. Is there an upgrade I can apply? Where will I find it? Thanks.
Outlook 2003 will install. Before you open it run Windows updates so the latest service pack installs for Office. There is a Outlook 2007 out that fully supports Vista

Right click on executable, select properties, Then select compatibility tab Then check "run this program in compatibility mode for" Then select Windows Vista or 2003
Yes, but you will need to make sure if the version of Outlook that you have is comaptible to windows 7.
Officially only Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 are supported to run on Windows 7. This is similar to Windows Vista which also did not support earlier versions of Outlook. You can install a version prior to Outlook 2003 on Windows 7 though but there are several issues which you could encounter.
In addition to these version requirements, even with Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 there are several compatibility issues which you could encounter on Windows 7. The most critical of these issues have been taken care off in prior service pack releases. So before starting Outlook on Windows 7, make sure your first apply at least Service Pack 3 for Office 2003 and Service Pack 2 for Office 2007.
Hope this will help...Your response is very much appreciated...

There is a compatibility update from Microsoft for Vista and Outlook 2003: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929427 It doesn't address specific problems there, but it tells you how to get the compatibility updates. Sounds like a good place to start.
I was having a similar problem with my M515. I had originally installed the Palm Desktop from my CD, which was an older version. When I totally uninstalled the old version and installed the newer version from the Palm website I was able to do a successful sync. I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate and Palm Desktop version 4.1.4
Download the Outlook Security Add-in from this site:

I have testet it with Windows XP and Outlook 2002 SP3 syncing with a Palm Zire 31 and it works fine.
