My Phillips Portable DVD Player PET824 says it is loading the dvd, the dvd is spinning, but it never loads. The blue screen that says "Phillips DVD Video" remains. I can hear the motor running and it sounds normal but no video.

you can try moving the laser lens that reads the dvd's just don't touch the lens just move that little square it's attached. all you have to do is move it back or forth just a little and leave it and try the cd and if that don't work just keep on moving it around until it reads. it'll work i had that problem on my dvd player and my playstation.
This may be due to a bad contact in the connector. If you unscrew and remove the back cover, there is bunch of wires coming from the LCD with a male or female, I forgot, connector on the end, which plugs into its counterpart on the main board. That connector may not be fuly plugged in. The chance that this is indeed the case is no more than 10%. Unfortunatey it looks like this the electronics failure - 70% or LCD itself - 20%
