Acer Aspire 5580 poor battery

Unplug the power, remove the battery and then hold the power button for 30 to 60 seconds. Then reattach the power and attempt a boot. It worked for me! Just shutdown, put the battery back in you're good to go. Worked for me so definitely worth a try.

Your router could be going bad, if everything else has remained the same.
I would check for malware and other unwanted programs. They could be messing with your performance.
A suggestion--go to www. malwarebytes.org and download the free malware checker. That sure might help.

9 times out of ten here you got a conflict or the touch pad is defective you might want to order a new touch pad and put it in or have someone do it for you. I have found on this model that being the case, A work around would be getting a external mouse.

sir on the right of the taskbar click on the battery.an option will pop up. click on the high performance. your screen will be bright.

sounds like your acer adapter has burned up, they tend to get very hot.get a new one.or try a car charger

I am not familiar with this particular model but deal daily with this same issue on the Lenovo Thinkpads...it is the battery. They can just go bad. Had one yesterday that was fine the day before, now won't hold a charge. It was also less than two years old. They seem to have a shelf life. I would check with ACER to make sure they agree, then order a new battery.

To extend battery life, you need to use the battery up on a regular basis, then recharge all the way. Leaving it plugged in all the time with the battery in shortens battery life.
