Hi, In the direct tv settings you have to set it back to the vizio, direct TV builds in this remote programming feature, of course the TV needs to be on showing the direct TV menu first,

You'll need to either call them and have them walk through programming the remote to the TV or visit their website for the information. Here at DISH Network, we have instructions on our website with instructions on how to program our remotes to TVs. I hope this helps.

I believe the remote has to be re-programed. Press menu,system setup, remote control, program remote, TV, scroll down to vizio, then follow programming directions. Hope that helps.

Actuly you can get the remote to work with your TV. I also have direct tv and a vizio and my direct tv remote works the tv. I need to get you remote model # to be able to help you program the remote. read the directions at the part where it says manually program, you have to do certian functions then push the channel up and down until tv responds then its programmed, this is actually finding the code as you go, instructions will explain it all because ech universal is just a little diff in its manual process.
