DMC-ZS3 cannot download the videos..what to do???? please help, have precious images of good friends

The only time I have seen horizontal lines in the pictures, it was a prelude to the CCD sensor failing. Sounds like a CCD sensor problem.If the CCD sensor is causing the problem, it will get worse soon. Usually the next thing to happen is that the colors will shift toward pink.

I suggest you phone Panasonic support and tell them the problem and that you suspect the CCD.Ask for a repair quote for a CCD replacement.If the product is under warranty.


In order to correct this issue, the repair facility needs to replace the CCD. This is not something you may do on your own; check this article for additional details:Bad CCDs. This, isn't a good new, but hope helps to solve it.

the cost of it is to high you better replace the camera

You might be able to flash over the ZS3 to TZ7, but that would be an expensive gamble.Nor would I trust anyone other than Panasonic to tell me what I could or couldn't do as far as this question is concerned - unless I was interested in taking the risk.

The TZ7 limits the length of the video that can be recorded to something on the order of 3 or 4 minutes - whereas the ZS3 is limited only by the size of the SDHC card. I believe it had to due with the tax collect for a "video camera" as opposed to the still camera that can record "clips" instead of movies. Tha, and of course the NTSC / PAL differences and who knows whatelese that isn't mentioned (but I suspect very little else actually).

Contact Panasonic Consumer Product Support for the best answer you can hope for. I hope this helped - and good luck!

I don't know what your friend did but you can easily download your pics the same way the pros do it....use a separate card reader. This one is only $13 at Walmart.

i dropped my panasonic dmc-zs3 and now there are vertical lines on the view finder. also, these lines appear after taking a photo or video.

can this be repaired?
