This should help you. You need to know if your thermostat is powered by the unit or independently and which way your reversing valve switches (I,m not sure on a Bryant, but probably Your old O wire goes to your new O terminal. They should pretty much match up, the new stat just has more options. Thermostat wiring

Hi,
I hate to tell you this but that thermostat will not work with your system.
The system you have is a 2 stage system and the thermostat you got will only do one stage.
You will need to get a thermostat theat is compatible with stage heating and cooling.
The W1 is the first stage heating, the W2 is second heating. The same is true for Y1 and Y2 on cooling
You could double them up, but it would defeat the encomoy reasons for having a 2 stage unit.
Wish I could give you better news..

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

SOURCE: The Honeywell LR69071 (old) has 7 wires connected

Wiring on the old one, "X", probably a brown wire will not be used on the new stat. If it's a blue wire, this may be your common. "E" and "W2" probably wired together with a white wire, this controls electric heat. "R" with a red wire, this is 24 volt power. "O" is an orange wire, this is the reversing valve. "Y" is a yellow wire, this is the contactor. "G" is a green wire, this is the blower. This pretty accurate? On the new stat, the jumper should be connecting "RH" to "RC/R", leave it in and wire the "R" from your old one to either terminal. White from the old one will go to the "E" of the new one. If your electric heat doesn't work after the install, you may need to jumper the "W1" and "W2" with the "E". "O" wires to "O". "Y" from the old one wires to the "Y1" of the new. "G" wires to "G". "C" on the new one is common. Usually a blue wire goes here. If "X" on the old one was blue, plug it into the "C". If it was brown, I'd suggest not using a common, and installing batteries. Hope this helps.

How do I set my hunter thermostat so when the heat pump comes on, how to set so the thermostat and heat strips from the heat pump sinc with each other. The model number is 44860

call a service tech, this sounds complicated. To avoid using too much energy or burning down your life savings in heating bills, a certain sequence should be followed when the thermostat operates. The actual sequence will differ depending on what equipment you have available to control, as well as your location and heating and cooling loads. The money you could save by having it done right the first time will quickly pay for a service call, then keep on saving you money after that.

I am trouble shooting a Bryant Hi-bred system that uses an air cooled heat pump with high efficiency gas furnace for backup and low ambient operation. How does the system decide whether to use the air...

Your t-stat should be set up so that the furnace is the second stage heat and also emergency heat. First stage (heat Pump comes on) sometimes they use Time to start 2nd stage, sometimes they use outdoor temp and this all bepends how bryant has set it up, without a model # I cannot tell you but send it and i will look in somebooks i have to tell you.

Reversing valve wire kills either heat or AC

Your solution is throw that Hunter tsat away and get a good one. You need one with 2 stage heat 1 stage cool heat pump tstat. Heat pump tsta has w,y,o,g,w,rnad w2. Don,t buy one without this one it. I have been in this business 45 years and people are always getting sold the wrong tstat at Lowe or Home Depot. Those guys dont know jack about Tstats. Keep in touch Rus GOOD LUCK. Get the right tstat follow the letter on wiring and you wont have any problem.

Is the Bryant 661CJ030-A heat pump single- or multi-stage?

Single stage heat pump. But you must have a two stage tstat for backup electric heat. You single stage cool two stage heat. The second stage brings on the electric heat in case the heat pump can not keep up. Wiring goes r y w1 on most heat pump tstats are switchover valve or o terminal. W2 second stage heat or emergency heat. g is fan c is common terminal.Rus

44860 thermostat won't activate in heat mode

I had the same set and problem. I had a RC wire which is the power to the AC. But didn't have an RH wire which is the power for the heat. To fix this just use the jumper wire and insert it in with the RC wire and hook it up to the RH. Fixed my problem.
