Hello, I recently upgraded the firmware of my Olympus LS-10 from version 1.03 to version 1.10. Today I tried to connect the recorder to my Mac-computer, a PowerBook G4 1,67 gHz. I was very much surprised to find out that my computer does recognize the LS-10 (I saw it in the System Profile), but it doesn.t show up in the Finder any more! I checked whether it is handled correctly in Windows 2000 on my Virtual PC, and yes it was there! Any nice suggestion would help! Thanks, Peter Smith, Netherlands
Finder-problem solved! Next morning I solved the problem myself by restarting the computer with the LS-10 connected to it. The icon appeared on the desktop and in the Finder as well.Finder-problem solved!

We’ll be glad to assist you with this situation. A firmware upgrade will be required in order to correct the problem that you are experiencing.
Please reply this email with the following information: Model number Serial Number Date of Purchase: 09/13/09 Firmware/Software version of the unit Physicall address to send you the firmware upgrade
To get the Firmware/Software version of the unit try the following steps: 1.Select TV Aspect from the Setup Menu. 2.Highlight the 16:9 Option 3.Type in the code 1397139. 4.The System Information Screen will appear. From this screen ask the customer to read the current Firmware/Software version of the unit.
Once we have all the product information we will be sending you a firmware upgrade, that will solve the issue that your unit has. I replied to the E-mail and now awaiting the arrivial of a disc with the firmware upgrade. Hope this gives you a starting please.
There are several "flavours" of DNS 10, and only the Preferred and Professional versions will allow you to submit a pre-recorded sound for recognition (from the Sound menu). If you have a lower version such as the Standard, you will need to upgrade to at least Preferred.
