SOURCE: Olevia LT42HVi - Need to toggle power switch on back of TV off/on all the time
You swapped the power strip. How about swapping the cord with another. Most LCD and Plasma TV used a cord similar to the cord use for the power supply of PC (IEC line plug). If still it doesn't work. Time to open the back to access the connector terminal which came loose (Due to heat) if not soldered directly to the power supply PCB. Just pinch the spade crimp, better still solder it. Make sure to lay the TV flat, face down on a smooth surface table if you're repairing it yourself.
Good Luck.

Go to Best Buy and buy the DirectTV Universal Remote Control Model RC64 ($20). It will control all the functions on both the Olevia TV and the RCA Satellite box, except the A-B-C-D buttons for the User Guide. It's codes are:
Satellite Box - 00392
Olevia TV - 11610
Enjoy!

@givemhall: I had this happen to my 42" after I moved. It turns out that when we were carrying the TV, the power button got pressed down too hard (it's right near where you would put your hand to lift the set) and it was stuck in the ON position. We took the TV apart and fixed the switch, then the TV worked like a charm. It's about an 45 minutes worth of tear-down, but we were ecstatic when it came back to life. Hope this helps you!
SOURCE: Power supply module for Olevia Model 237-S11
i have the same exact problem with my cheap made olevia lcd tv. these were designed to last about 2-3 years. the company has closed up and left the building.the power boards they used were cheap and had very poor capacitors on them that is really the main problem cheap parts.the power board is about 100 if you can find one. i am in search for 1 with no luck. very easy to replace yourself. i have taken mine apart twice to try to figure out what was wrong. looks mainly plug and play on all the boards. repair shop wants 300 to fix mine so i am either gonna trash it or wait forever for a power supply board. good luck!!
SOURCE: Olevia 747i won't turn on, no blue led light? Help!
I would start with the power supply. Possibly a fuse. 9 times out of ten though if a fuse goes, something inside the set is causing the fuse to blow.
