I am attempting to program the atomic masses of the elements into my Ti-86 using the Store feature and Capital and lowercase letters, (ie. 54.938>Mn) and I got all the way to Lu, when it gave me an...

There is a built-in function called LU (for LU-decomposition of a matrix). You cannot have a variable with the same name as a function, regardless of case. You'll have to find a different name to use.

On a Pro 94, how do I go to, and listen to a specific frequency (one that is not stored in a memory bank)? Neither the Radio Shack manual, or the easier 94 manual describes this, and it appears to be a...

Sorry, but your PRO-94 scanner, like most models, does not have a direct tune mode. To listen to a frequency it must be either found during a search or programmed into a channel. I suggest that you designate a bank, or a portion of one, for the storage of temporary frequencies. That way you can recall and review those frequencies, and delete them as you want to.

I have a radio shack pro 94 scanner that gets stuck in the high channels. How can I make it scan to other channels

Getting "stuck" indicates that the scanner may need to be reset to restore proper operation. This is a fairly drastic step that will erase ALL information that you've programmed into the scanner, but it's about the only fix. To reset the PRO-94:

- Turn the scanner OFF

- While holding down the 2 and 9 keys, power the scanner ON.

- CLEAR will flash for about 5 seconds as the scanners clears its memory and restores factory settings. Do not turn the scanner OFF or press any keys until the CLEAR message stops flashing.

Need the manual for your scanner? You can download/print it here:

MY pro-94 said on the screen lu,red or something like that !

Could the display be saying "wired"? This is what it shows when it is in cloning or programming mode. If it is showing this and there is no programming or cloning cable attached, check the programming jack to see if it is damaged.

All functions have ceased to operate - the reset works fine but none of the buttons seem to function. this problem started all of a sudden, i assumed maybe a button was stuck but they all seem ok?

Pooky

Indeed the buttons (pushers or pusher contacts) may have been jammed internally. The are a small piece of metal which is pushed my a cylindrcal rod (which you are pushing the outer part of it into the pusher contact).

Sometimes the pusher contact may have come out of alignment. or did you change the battery yourself? did you a/c it properly? (metal tweezer from the a/c with the battery)?

Hope this helps or sheds so light on your situation

Sratches on screen

We have to love those wonderful and beautiful children. Unfortunally, I know of nothing to repair the scratches but replacing the screen is possible. Should you try this on your own, make sure you install the new screen in the proper direction. Good Luck

LG LHT764

The first step is to make sure that all of your speakers are functioning properly and are wired in the correct place. To do this, turn on your TV and receiver, and hit "SETUP" on your remote. Step down and select "Audio" from the list on the left, and select "5.1 Speaker Setup" from the menu on the right. Scroll down to "TEST" and step through each speaker using the right and left arrow keys on your remote, ensuring that each speaker is functioning properly. Exit out of the "SETUP" menu when finished.

Now, when you have a source that you would like to hear on 5.1 channels, but is encoded in 2.1, hit the "SOUND" button on your remote until "PL II MOVIE" or "PL II MUSIC" is displayed on your screen. This stands for Dolby Pro Logic II, and is the way that your receiver multiplexes a 2-channel signal.

Manual

What you want to do is set your radio to the proper S.A.M.E. (Specific Area Message Encoding) code for your county. You will find this information on the NOAA website which can be found at www.weather.gov/nwr/indexnw.htm. Find your state and it will list S.A.M.E. numbers by county.

Setting the code:
1. Push the CNTY/CH button on your radio. 4th button from the top /2nd up from bottom. This will prompt you to set the county.
2. Push the SET button. Button at bottom right. This will prompt the screen to show a set of 6 numbers flashing with the first number.
3. Under the screen you will see a set of 5 numbers and a 5+ with its corresponding button underneath. Use these for setting the code. For numbers above 5 use the 5+ button (e.g. 7 = 5+2). You will be able to set your radio for 10 different S.A.M.E. if needed. To do this you scroll through each S.A.M.E. number by pushing the CNTY/CH button.
4. After you set the S.A.M.E. number, push SET again to prompt you for the proper channel. The channels are A - G. You will want to have your radio on for this to be able to find the clearest channel. Turn your radio on and push the NOAA button under the screen. Push the CNTY/CH button till you get prompted for the SET CHANNEL. Push the SET button and the channel will blink. To scroll through use the TUN- OR TUN+ buttons and find the clearest channel.

You should be all set! Hope this was helpful.
