Cash register doesn't register that I have scanned a barcode. The scanner beeps and sends the data, but nothing happens on the register (SE S300)

Try resetting the scanner or replace it altogether or better still call a technician

I am going to presume that you have not set up the Barcode scanner yet with the barcode EAN defaults etc? Please take a look at the PDF document via the link below and go through the setup process for the barcode scanner.

I think you mean an SE-S300. If so, pull a battery out. Turn key to REG mode. Turn off at wall, then back on. Put battery in. Be aware that this will lose all programming and sales data. You will need to re-program from scratch.

There is nothing simple about bar code systems unfortunately. Has this scanner been working with that cash register previously? Have you had a training session with the dealer when you bought it? The dealer should have set the system programming in the register and the scanner should have been set for the correct interface parameters. The Cash register settings can be found only in the dealer manual. the scanner comes with a programming card, just scan the barcode to start programming, then scan the barcode that says usb and then scan the barcode that says end programming, and it will start working again

There are several things you will need to do. In the I/O program you must tell it where and how the scanner is set up and then you will have to program the scanner itself. I know this will solve it. I need to know the make and model of scanner

for the scanner, u need to program it to suit Casio Cash Register, eg: baud rate, parity , data bit & so on...other wise, the Cash Register cannot receive the signal from the scanner.
After program the scanner , please perform "flag clear" to the cash register.

There are two different type of port usually experience this particular problem.

1) If you use the scanner to com1 computer port
2) If you use the scanner to com1 cash register

The only way to settle the situation is to use the manual barcode scanner default settings.

1) Setting up default for com1 scanner
2) Setting up default for com1 cash register.

If you barcode still experience the problem you need to contact the manufacturer on that model or the reseller where you bought the said device.

Probably, the device being situated in critical effects that your scanner would not able to determine where it will send the data from your barcode scanner.
