uninstall drivers - restart - install drivers again.

Which make is this laptop ? is it Dell or HP etc ?

You might want to borrow a external Mouse (USB) for easier navigation.

I sugest to go to the web page of your printer branch and check if your printer is compatible with win7

Update synaptics driver from Hp.com that should fix the issue

Could be hardware related BUT from experience it is software related requiring a completed reinstall of your software if your using vista - so backup and save any data you want - reboot and at the HP splash screen hit F11 to enter system recovery - select advanced options - select full recovery - no back up and let it do a completed restore.

unplug the ac adaptor and see if the cursor is still going wild on you.

reinstall the touchpad drivers while ac power is on
