Hitachi 53FDX20B How do enter Manual convergence mode for the subject TV? I changed the IC's and now the picture is blurry.

GO to customer menu and with the remote select convergence--if skewed and will not move in some direction, convergence problem.

Total parts cost on EBAY FOR PARTS would be under 25 dollars.

This can be a do it yourself repair.

No,ur tv have a problems,known as a convergence problems,it dead.Very common problems on the DLP tvs design flaw.Most commom problems are R,G,B mis alignment,will not align,Colors shadows pictures,3D pictured and blurry?The tv convergence board require changing the 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors are dead,must changes to solved convergence problems.The shop will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.

It is not your Picture tubes that are bad, it is your Convergence IC's. The IC # to use is STK392-180. These are better than the originals, also invest in these resistors: 1.5 ohm 1w,,,1.8 ohm 1w,,,2.2 ohm 1w. (watt). I would by 4 each. Your soldering skills will come into play so roll up your sleeves and go to work.....Good luck ! and let me know how you do.

its the convergence problem in your tv.the ic needs replacement.to fix the problem.its worth getting it fixed.get it repaired.
the cost will be negligible.

sounds like video card failure mode, 101..you a technically adroit person?

I would start 1st by checking all resistors ie.
RK43 2.2 ohm - 2W
RK47 1.5 ohm - 2W
RK51 2.2 ohm - 2W
RK55 1.5 ohm - 2W
RK59 2.2 ohm - 2W
RK63 1.5 ohm - 2W
If I were you I would also replace the convergence chips. From the above thread it's clear that they are of different quality so they may last different lengths of time (B&D is a good place to buy good quality ones).
