The cooling system in your vehicle is filled with DEX-COOL engine coolant. This coolant is designed to remain in your vehicle for 5 years or 150,000 miles (240 000 km), whichever occurs first, if you add only DEX-COOL extended life coolant.

A 50/50 mixture of clean, drinkable water (if the water in your area is of poor quality, it is recommended you use distilled or de-ionized water) and DEX-COOL coolant will:

  • Give freezing protection down to -34°F (-37°C).
  • Give boiling protection up to 265°F (129°C).
  • Protect against rust and corrosion.
  • Help keep the proper engine temperature.
  • Let the warning lights and gauges work as they should.
Hope this information helps

After replacing the fan clutch and water pump do i have to reprogram the computer on a 2003 gmc envoy?

No! there is nothing to reprogram. The sensors in the coolant system and the temp sensor for the fans dont need to have anything done to them. If you are not getting any check engine light, you are good.

check and make sure you do not have leak and that your not loosing coolant it takes a few minutes for the new one to open just long enough for it warm up but you may just have air in your system common problem shut if off let it cool a bit take the radiator cap off if you hear air then you know got air in their and add coolant as you need envoys have a large cooling system so it takes more coolant than one would think.if i remember right they use the orange dex-cool type good luck to you

I am having problen with my 2003 GMC Envoy. The scanner show the following "code 128", what this mean.

This code indicates that the coolant has not reached operating temperature, this is usually caused by a stuck open thermostat.

Coolant level

I see, this is a sign of a good coolant system. there is no problem here. The system is fine. i do recommend flushing the radiator once a year but, your truck is in good condition.
