My son knocked my camera off the cupboard and the screen now shows a crack and no picture at all. Is it possible to get a replacement lcd screen somewhere.

The LDC screen most likely broke the screen did not crack by the actual underlying LCD screen broke the only option is to replace the screen or have it replaced at a local camera shop
Unfortunately this is a permanent damage on the screen display - it needs to be replaced. The LCD glass has a cracked - the black spot is the crack. It should not effect your pictures when you take them.
The front glass is just a protector for the LCD screen. If your TV turns on and the picture looks ok (may be a little color variation around the crack if front glass is pushing on it, variation OK black Bad) If the picture looks within the range described then replace the glass. It is just a piece of standard glass and a pretty easy diy job. If the LCD screen is broken the repair will be more than the replacement cost. Sad fact US TV repairmen make a living wage while the workers that assembled you TV wouldn't be able to buy lunch here with what they made putting it together.
hi, we are a big supplier for camera repair parts, if you want to buy a new lcd screen, pls don't hesitate to contact us by email [email protected]. you could also visit our company website www.think-tec.com, thanks.
I also cracked my Canon Powershot A630 lcd screen by dropping the camera. I saw a suggestion to buy a new replacement lens and either have it professionally replaced or try it myself. I ended up doing the replacement myself following instructions I found online. Now it works. Total cost US $63.
I would not recommend trying the replacement yourself, however. There are a few very delicate plastic parts in there which I ended up damaging. Luckily the camera and lcd screen are working great now. But it is probably worth having a professional camera repair shop do the whole job or insert the screen you've purchased. Good luck!
The camera will still work fine. The screen is only for framing your pictures and reviewing them. It will be hard to take pictures that way. Just get a new camera. It will be cheaper than repairing the screen.
