You may have your machine set to print in "toner save" mode. Check your machine settings by printing a list. Also, some generic toner cartridges have too much polymer in the mix and will print light copies. If you change back to OEM toner, you may have to change the drum too, as the extra polymer stays in the drum unit and weakens the mix.

Copying is very light while scan print fine

Unfortunately that is typical. You can set the copies to be darker, but often that just introduces gray areas that should be white.

Better to just scan and then print the pdf.

My konica 2223 copy lamp is dim resulting to paper jams and blank copies, im just repalce my Power supply board

Check your newly installed power supply board input rating if the same with the old one if yes P51 error common for front door open and can be cleared by closing the front door. Door lock actually connect to the interlock switch at the back beside power supply unit sometimes we just clean connectors if not replace power supply. Now if the light scan with very low intensity the result would be darker and probably will cause you paper jam at the fusing/heater unit but, if blank copies the light intensity is to high. you may adjust or correct it by CVR adjustment/Light intensity adjustment " go to 36 mode off machine hold 3 and 6 while power on release 3&6 after display reads CC, enter address 9-0, start, p- select (0/30 darker 35/55 normal- 60/90 lighter) this adjustment may vary depending on drum coating and optical adjustment/cleaning. I suggest clean first all mirrors before you do it.Hope this may help you sold the problem.

Our copier is copying in light shade. how to make it darker

To adjust the default lighter/darker setting

1. On the LaserJet 3015, press MENU/ENTER.

2. Use the < or the > button to select Copy setup, and then press MENU/ENTER.

3. Use the < or the > button to select Def. Light/Dark, and then press MENU/ENTER.

4. Use the < or the > button to adjust the setting. Move the slider to the left to make all of the

copies lighter than the original, or move the slider to the right to make all of the copies

darker than the original.
5. Press MENU/ENTER to save the selection.

Page 48 of the User Guide has instructions for adjusting the light/dark setting during a copy job.

Also see the Troubleshooting section of the User Guide for other possible reasons for light/faded copies.

If your copies continue to come out too light, you may need to clean the insert a new toner cartridge or change brands of toner. I tried several "generic" toner cartridges and refills, but my prints and copies were always faded or streaky. After going back to genuine HP cartridges, I haven't had any print quality problems.

Canon PC6re copier makes copies that are dark on the long edges

Just fyi, a Canon PC-6e is a copier that is about ten + years old of a model... The drum unit will make the copies better.... But, you most likely need to clean the optic's. Have you tried to make the copies lighter??? If I am correct, there is a small botton on the control pannel that will turn... It will make the copies light one way and darker the other way... Good Luck

Dell 1600 - Print on copies is very, very light. We have put in a new toner and set the contrast to "Darker", but the copies still are light and hard to read.

Hello,
You can try a couple of things,
1. Verify that the pull strip was removed from the toner cartridge before it was supposed to be installed.
2. Shake the toner cartridge side to side to loosen the toner inside.
3. Clean the inside of the printer with a can of compressed air.

Good Luck!

Modixerox 5510 functioning

Digital copiers will copy very light if the optics (mirrors, ccd lens) are dusty (opposite to the old analogue copiers which got darker) Clean whatever you can get at with a soft dry cloth. If it prints light from your computer then it won't be the optics, could be the ROS unit. If the ROS unit is dirty that's somewhat more complicated, the only bit you can get at is the ROS window, you'll have to pull the drum out and clean the glass window you can see from there
