Mitsubishi wd 62527 has very dark picture changed bulb, picture was even darker
I have been having the same issue. Today I tried to tackle the issue and see if I could fix it myself by cleaning various parts of the tv. After I was done even my wife noticed the difference. This is not something for people who are afraid to take things apart.
All you will need is a Phillips screwdriver, some CLEAN compressed air, and a lint free towel meant for cleaning lenses.
First put the tv in an area you can easy get to all sides.
Remove the lamp panel and lamp assembly clean and set aside
Remove the air filter panel clean the filter and set aside. (I cleaned mine with tap water no chemical) I dont recommend using any chemicals anywhere on the tv except to screen the exterior portion of the screen.
Now on the front of the tv gently pry off the speaker grill.
Remove all the screws under the screen
remove the screws around the screen, 3 on each side and 4 on top.
Gently lift up on the screen while pulling towards you. Rest it somewhere it will not get scratched on either side. Clean the inside portion with a lint free microfiber towel.
Next remove the plastic panel right above the projector lens. This gives you access to the RGB LED's
At this point is where I start going over everything with the compressed air till I dont see any more dust flying around. This is also why I left all the panels off in the back so that I could try to force all the dust out the back of the tv and away from the lenses. I blew air down through the LED's and anywhere I could get air to go.
After there is no more dust use the lint free lenses cleaning cloth to clean the front projection mirror and the projection lenses.
Next take the lens cleaning cloth and use it to clean the lens in the back that focuses the light from the lamp. This part gets very hot and I got ALOT of baked on dust off of the lens. Keep rubbing the lens until all the dust is removed.
Next clean the lamp itself I used compressed air to blow the whole assembly clean and then wiped it down with a microfiber towel.
Next blow out the tv one more time to ensure you get any dust you may have knocked free. Give the lenses all a quick wipe with the lenses cloth and reassemble.
Hope this helps someone.

Clean the small front projection mirror. That mirror can get dust on it and will cause the projected image to appear dull and dim and cleaning that mirror will usually restore the brightness and crisp details in the image.
