go to control panel, under device manager uninstall imaging device (scanner) and click scan for hardware changes, if found new hardware occurred click next and choose no, not this time tab / choose install from the list specific location option tab / choose don't search i will choose the driver to install / click show compatible hardware tabs and select scanner type appeared.

But being such an old scanner you will be better off just buying a new usb flat-bed scanner for under $60 at most post offices or retail out lets
