The touch pad for favorite setting and start don't work. The only way we can make it run is by using delay start. Would like to fix it ourselves if someone can tell us what needs to be replaced. Thanks Sue Andrews [email protected]

Your looking at either the main control board or touchpad. I would say 80% controlboard 20% touchpad. Does the bottom light up when you touch the start button or delay button?

Whirlpool quiet partner iv start and delay start button won't work

Hello Eric Sounds like the touch pad or control panel may need replacing. I use RepairClinic web site to fix most appliance problems. Fortunately not many tools are needed, do you have an electrical tester, socket drivers, pliers ?

I can't get my clock set on my GE stove model # JB645DT1BB It said to hold for 3 seconds to change the time but it doesn't change. HELP Please

To Set the Clock
The clock must be set to the correct time
of day for the automatic oven timing functions
to work properly,The time of day cannot be
changed during a delayed cooking or a delayed
self-cleaning cycle,
1. Touch the Clock pad twice.
For models without a Clock pad:
Hold the + and - pads for 3 seconds.

2. Touch the + or - pads.
If the + or - pads are not touched within one
minute after Step 1, the display reverts to the
original setting. If this happens, repeat Step 1
and reenter the time of day.

3. Touch the Start/On pad until the time of
day shows in the display. This enters the
time and starts the clock.
To check the time of day when the display is
showing other information, simply touch the
Clock pad. The time of day shows until another
pad is touched.

I want to disable the touchpad and use the external mouse exclusively

Some laptops don't have dedicated buttons but you can use Function keys (like Fn + F5 on Dell computers) to toggle the state of your touch pad. In the case of HP laptops, you can hold the top-left corner of the touchpad for few seconds and it will disable the touch pad - repeat this to re-activate it.

New laptop computers either have a physical on/off button to easily disable the touch pad or there's an icon in the system tray that lets you manage the various settings of the touchpad. If you don't have that icon, you can go to Control Panel -> Mouse Properties -> Touch Pad to enable or disable the touchpad.

The touch pad can also be disabled through the device manager. Type devmgmt.msc in the Windows Run box to start the device manager, expand "Mice and other Pointing devices", right-click and disable the driver entry that says Touch pad or likewise.

Hope this information will help.

Your response is very much appreciated. Thank you for using Fixya...

A red padlock symbol is showing on the panel of my WCVH6800 front load washer. I can't change any of the wash settings. How do I fix this?

Here's what the Padlock represents:

Lock Function

You can lock the controls to prevent any selections from being made. Or you can lock the controls after you have started a cycle. children cannot accidentally start the washer by touching pads with this option selected.

To lock the washer, press and hold the DELAY START button for 3 seconds (on some models use SIGNAL button). To unlock the washer controls, press and hold the DELAY START button for 3 seconds. The control lock icon on the display will light up when it is on.

NOTE: The POWER button can still be used when the machine is locked.

How do I set the oven to self clean

The oven door must be closed and all controls set correctly for the cycle to work properly. After a Clean Cycle You may notice some white ash in the oven. Wipe it up with a damp cloth after the oven cools. If white spots remain, remove them with a soap- filled scouring pad and rinse thoroughly with a vinegar and water mixture. These deposits are usually a salt residue that cannot be removed by the clean cycle. If the oven is not clean after one clean cycle, repeat the cycle.
You cannot set the oven for cooking until
the oven is cool enough for the door to unlock.
While the oven is self-cleaning, you can
touch the TIMER/CLOCK pad to display the time of day.
To return to the clean
countdown, touch the COOKING TIME pad.
If the shelves become hard to slide,
apply a small amount of vegetable oil or cooking oil to a paper towel and wipe the edges of the oven shelves with the paper towel.

Using the self-cleaning oven.

How to Delay the Start of Cleaning

Make sure the clock shows the correct time of day. If your model has a latch, latch the door. Touch the SELF CLEAN pad. Using the + or or the number pads, enter the desired clean time. Touch the DELAY START pad. The earliest start time you can set will appear in the display. Using the + or or the number pads, enter the time of day you want the clean cycle to start. Touch the START pad. On models without a door latch, the door locks automatically. The display will show the start time. It will not be possible to open the oven door until the temperature drops below the lock temperature and the LOCKED DOOR light goes off. The oven shuts off automatically when the clean cycle is complete. When the LOCKED DOOR light is off, slide the latch handle to the left as far as it will go and open the door. If your range does not have a latch, the door will unlock automatically. n The words LOCK DOOR will flash and the oven control will signal if you set the clean cycle and forget to close the oven door or forget to latch the door on models with a latch. n To stop a clean cycle, touch the CLEAR/OFF pad. When the LOCKED DOOR light goes off indicating the oven has cooled below the locking temperature, unlatch the door (on models with a latch) and open the door.

Kenmore 665 Ultra Wash FH141493

Hi daryano

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber

You want to know how to get the delay to work?

Most models work this way: Washing dishes the first time sets the favorites and the next time you start it the favs come on automatically provided you haven't changed the settings. So after the first use just hit delay and nothing else and when the dalay time is up it should work fine.
