SOURCE: sansui VCR/DVD player combo. A Platinum Plus model
It moves cause its trying to read the disk.
the two main causes of this is that
1.) the disc isnt spinning fast enough 5000rpm is required for it to work
2.) the lens is damaged
in eighter case you'll need to replace parts..
you can take it into a technician if you like of you can try to fix it our self
if it aint spinning fast enough you have to change the motor
if the motor is fine then its the lens, try cleaning it and if that dont work replace it.
I'd recommend you get a new player cause the parts required is a bit hard to find, and it cost with the technicians labour almost as much as a new one
MY SIGGESTION is its disposable
SOURCE: setting clock on older VRDVD4001AC
According to the manual, to set the standard time, you should press VCR MENU, then SET + OR - to select System Setup. Press ENTER. Press SET+ OR - again and then choose STANDARD TIME followed by ENTER to set your own time zone. Press SET + OR - one more time to select your time zone, and then again press ENTER. To return, press VCR MENU twice.
Just a note: The unit is set to AUTO CLOCK when it is shipped. If you leave it this way, the clock will set itself after you plug in the unit provided you do not press POWER for at least three minutes when you first plug it in. Also, your cable box or antenna must be attached in order for it to find the time.
