You need to do indepth inspection and voltage checking first to narrow down the problem, but you need to get somne basic on how LCD TV works first.

I had a similar problem. Take the batteries out of the remote, press down on the number 5 for about two minutes the put the batteries back in. This worked for me.
(I got this tip from a telesales advisor. I was close to buying a replacement remote but this tip worked. Hope it does for you. I'm not sure on the science part of it but it basically resets the remote. Good luck)
