Try it on another PC yet? Even at 0% brightness it will still have some light on the screen, unless there are problems inside the monitor, you will have to do the troubleshooting inside.

Why does screen go black after a few seconds

Hope this helps.... Your monitor has an inverter issue. You know it's an inverter problem when:
1. Your monitor starts normally and displays the startup/desktop screen for a while.
2. Then it suddenly goes off, leaving a blank (black) screen or a very dim display.

To fix this black screen problem, change the inverter board (based on your monitor brand).

Black screen on startup for macbook bro

It may be a problem with your light behind the screen or the driver's that produce the energy to light it up. Sounds like a hardware problem to me.

Dim screen

sounds like your backlight inverter or lamp has failed. It is worth fixing if you can find someone to do it for a reasonable price. It isn't something I would recommend trying yourself unless you have laptop repair experience. If you just want to purchase a new laptop, you can put your old one on Ebay or Craigslist. I can assure you someone will buy it as is.

Dropped phone, screen black

Replacing it is not too much trouble for an experienced cell phone technician. But, it's not for anyone who doesn't like to tinker with small things. Here's a video demonstrating the entire process: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJpHHs9QM5U.

Screen fades occasionally. Perfetc and them fades dark for about 5 min. Is that the bulb? Howmuch is a new bulb?

Make sure that in the settings that your TV isn't setup to auto dim. I remember I had a similar problem. I think when ever a light would turn on or someone would walk near the TV it would get dim. It was really annoying. Check your settings. Good luck

Toshiba Laptop - Dim Screen

Hey, sounds like the back lights in the laptop are faulty, if it is backlights you should be able to see the whole picture but will be hard to see and dull.

Heres one website that sells them, aint sure if its the cheapest place, last time i think i was about £80 for them. which is alot of money but depends on the laptop make etc.
