Your motherboard is probably shorting out your A/C adapter, you may need a new motherboard. With a Dell, the A/C adapter light will be green when plugged into the wall but as soon as you plug it into the PC the green light goes off. Which means that the Motherboard is shorting out the A/C adapter...
hope this helps

This is a sample of what you can try to do to diagnose a non-starting computer, If these don’t work, realize that most likely a system board (motherboard) has failed or the actual power trim strip above the keyboard has failed.
If it does not, there are 2 possible things I would suspect the Control strip or the mainboard. If you don't get the computer to start back up please put it back together so you remember where all the screws go. Even if you plan to get another mainboard put it back together.

remove the battery then try to turn on the laptop. if this works you probably have a bad/shorted battery
SOURCE: acer aspire 5920 won't turn on
two capacitors need replacing on the motherboard, and as in my case a further one replaced depending on whether the laptop will power off the battery alone - no mains connected. removing them will do but could be dangerous.
Try This:
1. Remove Sim Card
2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears
3. Replace Sim Card
4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.
Also, Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.
