My tv just started doing this yesterday (clicking when turning on but seeing no picture) and it's only 8 months old. I have an extended warranty but would like to know what your resolution to the problem was or is.
Thanks,
Jim
Rhonski ther is 5 capaseters on the power board have a look at the power board they have a x cut in the top of them run your finger over the x if they are raised up replace them they cost about 2 pound from maplins done my brothers and now works fine hope this helps
We have the same problem with our 46" Samsung LCD Tv LNT-4665F. It's only 2 years old and unfortunately it's out of warranty too. Our tv would not power on and just does this clicking sound. We called to get it serviced and we will need to pay $95 to have somebody comeout and diagnose the problem or we bring it to the shop and pay $50 to diagnose the problem. we've never had any problem with our SONY TVs. we regret buying Samsung!
This may be the power supply, and or there may be a board that has developed a short. The service tech can diagnose this and replace the defective board.
Anything can fail at any time.

I called my warranty provider and they're ordering a replacement motherboard based on my description. It certainly seems to be consistent with other problems posted on the internet regarding Samsung TVs with HDMI connections. I'm just guessing that it's due to the HDMI shorting out and roasting the main controller board. We'll see when the tech's come and fix it. I'll post what they do althought I'm expecting this problem to happen again based on what I'm reading in the forums etc. Thanks for your input.
