IT WILL NOT SPIN AND LEAVES WATER IN THE CLOTHES
Does anyone have (from the manual) dimensions on this unit? Frigidaire/Kenmore Washer 417.39012891 Dryer 417.59012890. Thanks!
Did some checking around on other websites and discovered that the problem was that the motor control module was fried. Replaced it (expensive!) and now it works like new. Advice...make sure that all the hoses are clamped on tightly and are leakproof. I think that a small leak onto the pump frame which is insulated from the chassis causes some residual leakage current to flow into the chassis, thereby damaging the board - which is not insulated. Not sure that this is the root cause, but I'm out of time on this machine. This is my last post on this topic. Next time, I'll take the $400 and the 2 days I invested into this machine and just buy a new one. Not that it sends the right message to my kids about keeping the old things working, but it does make sense economically unfortunately.

I had the same problem. After checking voltages and connectivities, I took the hoses off the pump, let the water drain into the drain on the floor, removed the pump and looked inside. THERE WAS A BOBBIE PIN JAMMED INSIDE!!! This prevented the pump from turning and draining the tub. I tested the pump outside of the washer and found that it still rotated perfectly well. I reinstalled the pump and now the washer works like new again. I guess the brain, if that's what you call a computer controller, uses a number of sensors to tell it not to send higher voltage to the motor and thereby spinning the tub if it senses that the water is above a certain level.
Check your laundry for things like bobbie pins before you load into the washer. Now this pregunta. If a pin got thru once, can we expect this type of thing to recurr?
Very helpfull. Was very easy to remove the drain pump following the instructions above. It turned out some thread from a bath mat was wrapped around the blades. Works perfectly now.
My frigidaire did the same thing.after $200.00 the problem was the door lock switch
I tell customers to remove the drain hose from the stand pipe and vacuum the water out of the washer from the drain hose but because of the pillow this might not work in your case. Now remove the two screws on the front lower panel and pull the panel
in side you will see the drain pump if you did not have a shop vac go to the auto parts store and buy a pair of radiator hose clamps and clamp the hose line as close to the washer as possible.(but put down some towels as water always stays there) then pull the tub to pump hose by depressing the squeeze clamp(now while your at the auto parts id get a screw clamp to replace the spring clamp it makes putting the hose back on a lot easier)pull the hose off.Then pull the pump to drain hose off .Remove the two 5/16 in screws securing the pump to the washer base.Unplug the connector and remove the pump inspect the pump for foreign objects,broken or stripped impeller blades . if the impeller are stripped you will have to replace the pump then form the front of the washer take a piece of water hose with one end cut off and run it down the pump to drain end of the drain and reassemble the unit

I think to be clear - mine does pump the water out and it rotates at a slow speed back and forth. It just doesn't do the high speed spin. It's got to be something very straight forward... please help - I have a 1 year old in cloth diapers and the spinning is essential!
I have the same problem and am trying to remove the bottom panel, as mentioned above... okay dumb question.. where are these screws to remove the panel? Are they on the bottom? Sorry, there is a nice large load of soaking wet clothes in the washer. But, I can not seem to find out how to remove the bottom panel. Perhaps mine is a different model? Sorry, I don't know the model # and can't seem to see it on it (on the back?) maybe, but I can't move this thing out myself. (Yes, I am a girl!)
Okay, I did remove the bottom panel, removed the hoses, checked out the pump. The pump looks fine. There was, however a bunch of change in the rubber boot/hose. Put everything back together (not an easy task, btw). My washer still will not spin. Just humming away... washes, drains fine, just will not kick into spin. :( I am so bummed. If you only knew the amount of laundry that has piled up... teenagers... construction workers... oh my.
I have the same problems as two of the ones listed. First I cant find the screws for the bottom panel and my washer will not spin the excess water out. It will drain and do the final slow back and forth spinning but not the fast ge rid of the water spin.
I wonder what it was with the door lock that prevented the spinning?
I finally fixed this problem by replacing the board. Apparently after I changed out the inner plastic tub, I spilled some water on the control board and fried it. Replace the board and it has been working like a charm for 5 years now.
