Horizontal stripes on play back

When I play back a recording on my panasonic AG-DVC7 it has horizontal stripes accross the screen which also translate to the computer or tv screen. It happens on all tapes. And I've tried letting it sit without it's battery to see if it's just a fluke. I've also reset it a number of times. The image on the stripes is the last image seen before the camera is put into VCR mode. Please help me!
Thanks

The stripes are caused from one of the heads on the dd cylinder not updating. you need to stick a head cleaner in, if that does not solve the problem then either the head is going need a thorough clean or it is damaged. it will need replacing.

WISH TO FIND OUT IF YOU CAN REPAIR MY PANASONIC AG-DVC7 MINI DV COMCORDER. WHEN I TURN IT ON, A MESSAGE APPEARS "THIS CAMERA NEEDS TO BE SERVICED"

I take the cover off the door, using the eraser as the end of a pencil - lightly press on the recording head (drum). Put a tape in and watch to see if the tape now wraps around the head and stays in position to record.

  • Like all the old video recorders there are mechanical parts inside what need cleaning in high priority the parts that mechanical activate switches for the intake in the little microcontactsswitches and the most important of all are mechanical mode-select-switches where timing is an hot issue
  • The entire process is timed often gears are used, but sometimes also strings that can slip by age and or dirt, cleaning and contact cleaner and look for bad soldering.
  • Also check that the lens motor for the aperture setting is working properly, because everything concerns mechanical settings when that failure then stops the device.
Also the zoom lens motor that are the first mechanical parts after the tape was lace in. all must exactly done in a special short timing.

Panasonic HVX200 will not play back tape

Your playback heads might be clogged. I am not sure if this camera with give you a RF warning if your record heads get clogged. Also most professional machines drums are rated at 1000 - 1500 hours before they need to be replaced. If you are at 500 and never cleaned the heads it is time to. Run a cleaning tape a few times.

Colour Noise and Dim Display

you may have a slightly damaged power supply...although swapping the main supply chassis may solve, I have seen front panels that have an additional supply section. look on the front panel board for any TP's and probe with an O-scope. if you see a TP that may also show (+ xx V), where xx is a numerical value-may be one x only, the scope must show a straight horizontal line that is shifted vertically away from its normal (ground) position. that confirms a DC value present. then determine the DC value of the shift. Another possibility, since you invested, is to search ebay for a second unit for part swapping. look for as-is units.

Pretend record issue

I've had this happen with a Panasonic when I went back out into the cold after going into a warm, humid cafe for lunch. The drum had picked up some condensation, but the condensation detector didn't shut down the camera.
