Sharpe LCD TV...model LC-195K24U-K...can't get to change channels
I bought this tv at Best Buy on sale because it was a floor model and had no instruction pamplet.
I thought I would just get it home, insert the cable into the back and go. Not so.
It will not change channels (except for 2) and the sound is tacky?
Plus the channel changer is a clock, kitchen timer and lighted....no menu key or settings key. One side has this " kitchen stuff" and the other side of the changer has volume and channel buttons up and down only...no numbers.
I am a woman lost in the new electronic age. Do I need a special "box" for this particular TV? I have 4 other TV's that all hook up to cable fine and work. I have high speed and phones all on the same service. Do I need some type of upgrading?

- Unplug the TV and count to 10 slowly. - Hold down the power button on the TV (not the remote.) - Plug in the TV while holding power button. - Count to 10 and release the power button. - Turn it on and hope for the best.
Buy a universal remote with an input button if there is no input selection option on the television. Would be helpful if you mentioned the brand and model of your TV
The LCD panel which is responsible for the picture is toast. You will need to replace it. You can have it repaired using a TV Repair guy but often it costs as much as a brand new LCD.
I recommend just finding the best sale you can and buy a new one.
My daughter broke my $1,600 LCD. It would have cost $1,200 to fix.. so I just bought a new one. After that I picked up a TV screen protector called TV Armor http://www.tv-armor.com Its designed to protect the TV from damage. Now I dont have to worry anymore when she is playing near it. It works really well.
Same problem. TV worked night before and then would turn on but no picture or sound. Power and OPC lights blinking. I couldn't change the channel or get to the menu. I disconnected the coaxial cable and the power for a few minutes and then plugged it back in (electric) but left the cable off. I got a message that it couldn;t get a signal. At that point I was able to change the channels. I plugged the cable line back in and everything worked fine... Good luck!!!
what cable company do you have because you should have a cable box because only a cable box can scramble the frequency so you can get the channel you subscribe for
Our tv sharp aquos LC 52 GD^U 52 in. HDTV LCD plays a narrative along with the closed captioning on selected channels, especially channel 2. We cannot get it to turn off and it is annoying to the point of wanting to return the tv. Please help.
For any electronic component, use the best connection that is available.

I'm curious if getting a replacement lcd panel for a 46" TV is not a problem, how difficult is it to replace it yourself. That is remove a cracked one and replace it with a new one.
