DVD players can only have certain times to change the region. You can get a region free DVD player on your computer and then you can play any discs from any region. You can try Leawo Blu-rat Player which can do this for you.

Bought a dvd from England.JVC dvd player will not play dvd.it is on stop and will not play.

American DVD players will not play European DVDs because they use different region codes, you can normally play them on computers, but DVD players are normally coded for only one region.

I brought american dvd;s with me to Italy and my player will not play them

they will not play them because the American DVDs have a region code on them. The DVD player you are using is probably only an Italy region code. there is nothing you can do about this unless you copy the DVD on the computer using a program such as Nero and they will get rid of the region code.

OR

you can go out and buy a DVD player that has a region code for American on it as well (For example it should say the region code on the box inside a triangle or a black circle)

Hope this helps. Good luck

I can only play American Dvd´s, can I have the player changed to play European Dvd´s?

American DVD (refered to as Region 1)
There are hacks available, but this is your responsibility. If you hack the machine, there may be a possibility that is will not work for any DVD. Although this is rare, it does happen.
Proceed at your own risk:

I bought pioneer muti system dvd

Check your DVD player's color system, most multi system dvd player has to be set(PAL or NTSC) manually, NTSC for American standard. Look for this button could be a mechanical switch at the back or at the menu. Some machine need to reboot after setting. Hope this helps

Some american dvds don't work on our dvd player.

DVD players have a region code in them, and each dvd is encoded with a regon code. This is a copyright protection from the movie industry. Dvd's can be made without a region code, if so they will play on all machines. Some dvd players let you change the region code only a few times before you are locked out. Some dvd players will not allow you to change the region code at all.

American DVD discs will not load and play, but overseas discs will

no the coding would not change from using the dvd's from overseas. the ones that you say are american may not be american and that is most likley the problem. try putting in a dvd that you have had for a long time that you bought here in the states and if that works then the dvds you say are american are the problem.

I want to make my UK DVD player play DVD's from N America.

Try the following procedure
- Power On
- Open Tray
- Press 9879 0 (0 stands for Multiregion, you may press buttons 1 to 6 to choose a specific region)
- A Message appears stating that "The Reg.No was changed to: [insert whatever region (0-6) you selected here]"

LG RH177 - Problem after playing American Gangster Extended Version

I had the SAME problem...sort of. American Gangster UR got to a real cliff hanger of a place, and then would go no farther. When I tried to push a forward arrow, it started rewinding. When I put another DVD in my player to see if it was the DVD or my player, it ruined THAT DVD too. Now I get the message "DISC ERROR," no matter what I play, so I have two broken DVDs and one broken DVD players! HELP!
