Re: How do I fix the light in the heater control?
The heater control will have to be removed and possibly disassembled to get at the bulb.
1995-98 Models
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the radio/HVAC controller cover by depressing the center pins inward to release the push pin fasteners. Be careful not to push the center pins all the way through the fasteners.
- Remove the push pin fasteners and pull the radio/HVAC controller cover rearward.
- If equipped, disengage the traction control/fog lamps/rear defogger electrical connector.
- Remove the radio. Refer to the Radio removal and installation procedure, later in this section.
- Disengage the electrical connectors behind the controller face. Remove the wiring harness clip from the module boss.
- Disengage the temperature and mode cables from the controller assembly by squeezing the lock tabs together while pulling the cable housing straight up. Pull the cables straight up to disengage them from the control lever pins.
- Remove the HVAC control panel screws, then carefully pull the panel forward and remove it from the vehicle.
To install:
- Position the HVAC control panel to the dashboard and install the retaining screws. Tighten the retaining screws to 22 inch lbs. (2.5 Nm).
- Install the white temperature and black mode cables over the pins.
- Install the cable housings into the clip grooves, then push down to lock them into position.
- Reattach the electrical connectors to the back of the control panel face. Install the wiring harness clip to the module boss. Be sure that the wiring harness does not bind with control lever movement.
- Install the radio.
- If equipped, reattach the traction control/fog lamps/rear defogger electrical connectors.
- Install the radio/HVAC controller cover by pushing in at the clip locations.
- Install and lock the push pin fasteners.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
