You could try resetting the printer as a first step.
Leave the printer switched on and disconnect the USB cable from the back.
Remove the catridges and wait for "insert catridges" to be displayed. **Don't insert them! **
When the display comes up, disconnect the power cord from the printer. Wait 60 seconds and then reconnect the power cord and press the "on" button if it doesn't automatically start.
Reinsert the catridges and calibrate if asked to do so. Once this is completed reinsert the USB cord and try to print again.
If this doesn't work you can do a partial reset back to factory conditions.

Unplug the power cord from the HP All-in-One.

Wait for 20 seconds.

Press and hold # and 3 while plugging in the power cord to the HP All-in-One.

Release the buttons after the HP All-in-One starts up.

The HP All-in-One will now be reset to factory defaults.
