Also, at my office we have cans of compressed air. I used that on our typewriters and it works fine. My superiors were afraid of the WD40 hurting something.
Look at the ribbon. Is there a space for each letter? If so see if you can get some WD40 on the back and front of the print solenoid plunger. The solenoid is located below the ribbon just inside the l. printer side frame it dose gum up. if the ribbon isn't moving try anew ribbon and WD40 on the ribbon motor top and bottom bearings.
