Possible that the vent is getting blocked to prevent the cool air to be blown into the fridge section. So make sure that the auto defrost is working, if not check the auto defrost timer section, the fan, the heaters.
make sure that the thermostat is set to normal.
Finally shut off the fridge for 6-8 hours and see if the cooling resumes. If so the defrost section must be revisited

The refrigerator and freezer are not cooling on my Jenn-Air JCD2389GES. I have checked the cooling coils and they are dry no frost. I cleaned out the coils in the back. The fan in the lower back runs fine...

Check compressor is running with exact current (Amps). Keep your hand on discharge line on condenser coil to feel warm. If no warm means no gas in the system. If warm and no whistling sound in freezer means system under chocked.
If no gas, find leak an arrest it. Vacuum and do gas charging. If chocked, release all gas, flush out the system, replace filter drier, vacuum and recharge gas. Helpful?

I have a jenn-air jcd2389ges that is not getting cold.it runs and works but is not getting cold ..

If the freezer is staying cold it sounds like a defrost system problem. A bad timer, heater or thermostat can cause frost to build up on the coils and block air flow to the refrig side. Check out ACMEHowTo.com for troubleshooting the defroster problem.

My Jenn Air refrig model # JCD2389GES is not cooling on the refrigerator side but is fine on the freezer side.I changed the thermostat and was good for 40 days, then the nightmare started again.

the problem is in your freezer
you need to opaen the wall inside the freezer and see if there is ice build up on the coil.
if it is frozen heard you need new thermostat or heating element. check it first and let me know what you see.
open the back wall (the bottom one)

There is a small duct between the freezer and refrigerator side if this is blocked the frig side won't cool.

Jenn Air JCD2389GTW Refrigerator problem

The auto defrost timer was broken, so my refrigerator repairman replaced it. The part is about $60. The bigger expense was the labor getting to the timer, which is in the upper right hand corner of the refrigerator within the plastic casing that houses the temperature control levers. He then had to remove the panels of the freezer and defrost the coils with a blow heater. It took several hours.
