Start with checking that the dryer has 220volts to it. You can have a 2 legged circuit breaker half tripped, which will allow the light to come on and the drum to spin, but no heat. Next you should check the element for continuity. If that isnt the cause, then it most likely will be a thermal cutoff. If you go to sears parts direct, you can put in your model # and get a complete breakdown, with part #s and all.

Why does the clothes dryer have no heat at all when the clothes are drying in the dryer?

Try and clean out the lint filer first to see if it makes a difference. With an electric clothes dryer, no heat usually means that the circuit breaker or and the fuse that controls the power has blown;reset or replace it. Be aware that a dryer could have one or two breakers or fuses. The motor will run when one is working but the heating element requires both.
If your dryer takes more longer or a lot longer than usual to dry your clothes, or the air in the dryer is never heating up at all your heating element may of had gone bad. You can test your heating element to determine whether you need to replace it. Unplug your dryer from the utility room wall outlet. You will have to call a repair person to take a look at your dryer and to fix it.

Dryer is no longer heating? Could it be a heating

If it will run, but does not heat......Yes, it is most likely a heater or thermostat failure. Most dryers have more than one thermostat. You can find out which one is faulty by measuring continuity with a meter. At room temperature all thermostats will have continuity between the two terminals. Make sure to unplug the power cord before opening any machine!!

My GE Profile Harmony Dryer is no longer Heating

Does it get hot when you turn it on, and then never gets hot again while its running? On my dryer the solenoid broke, when the dryer was cold it worked and the dryer operated properly because the dryer and solenoid were cold and the solenoid wire was closed, when the dryer was hot enough the solenoid opened and the heat would not restart. the solenoid is a coiled wire which is used to open the gas valve.

Dryer has no heat

either your heating element or your thermostats are bad. on the heating element casing there are two thermostats. check the top one for continueity if it doesn't have continueity the change both thermostats. if they are good then check your heating element for continueity. after you get your dryer heating then clean out your vent system... if it's not venting properly then your dryer will take a long time to dry.

Dryer no longer has heat to dry clothes

The element gets brittle and breaks. The element is in the rear of the dryer under the dustcover.
