When i get my c3100 started i get an error code e 000013-0000 . can you tell me what the problem is

Check to see if the scanner lock is on lock position.. If it move to unlock C3100 Scanner carriage problem The home position is not correct when the power is turned on or copying the document placed on the contact glass.

This code means machine's scanner home possition error. Try to check scanner home possition sensor if fixed in its possition. if not try to check scanner lamp unit movement .

c3100 is a scanner home position error, does the scanner move when turned on with lid up? if not its the motor, if it moves then it mat be a sensor (usually "U" shaped in rear left under glass, or it could be "locked" for shipping, look for a switch on left side or under scanner unit. hope this helps.

take drum out and clean patch sensor you may need a new drum
