Sometimes when we set the timer on the stove to start cooking later in the day, the oven doesn't turn on, but the stove is flashing the word "door".
I had the same problem on my Whirlpool range, except it refused to cook at all and flashed the word "door." The problem was the wiring for the door interlock for the automatic cleaning oven, its wiring had melted and shorted to the chassis of the range.
If you do not care to use the automatic cleaning feature, the wiring will be removed and the oven will function, however the automatic clean will not work. If you want to use the automatic clean, new wiring can be ordered here, just make sure it is for your specific range model.
The wiring diagram for your range should be on the inside of the bottom drawer, it will tell you what color wires are for the automatic clean interlock. You will need to remove the panel on the back of the stove behind the cooktop and oven controls, make sure the power to the range is turned off before doing this.
It may be that the door interlock is faulty.
It will not turn on if it thinks the door is open. It will probably work fine if in manual mode - as this is not used.
If out of warranty, check the door interlock for anything broken off, and with a meter to ensure correct operation.
If this is ok, check cabling back to controller. This board may need repair/ replacement if faulty.
