Please try this that did work for me: I read somewhere in this site that taking the camera apart and then tapping on the ring around the lens while power on and off several times, it will work again. It takes few tries, but persist until the lens move back and reconnects. I took it apart with Phillips screwdriver and I used a hard rubber caulk spreader to tap it; it has some weight but will not damage the lens if its it by mistake. The web ready mp4 Video and the 10X optical lens alone is worth keeping this camera.
