Trans fluid leaking out cv joints after clutch change? Fairly constant drip. Has the mechanic over filled or not put seals in properly? Subaru Forester 2006

I believe the Half Shaft is totally isolated from the Gear oil in the trani, back in '06. The half shaft should bolt to the Trani Stub with 6 (or8) allen keyed bolts. If I had to guess, I think the mechanic may have ruined the seal at the half shaft bolt up point. Maybe he was a bit hard on the stub that sticks out to accept the half shaft

How to front trans axle seal 1998 Monte Carlo

you have to pull the half shaft out on the side the seal is leaking then pop out the seal and install new seal. this means r&r the wheel, brake, separate the lower ball joint, remove the half shaft axle nut, remove the half shaft from the spindle and pull out half shaft from trans. install in reverse order.

What is the difference between a cv half shaft and cv axle shaft?

They are both the same. Sometimes it is called a half shaft simply because it is for one side of the vehicle.
