I have a Simpson Eziset 550 washing machine and it does not fill with water at the start of a wash - instead it will start to fill then stop and all three lights on the water temp gauge light up and start beeping - can I fix it without getting a specialist repairer?

When mine had all 3 water temp lights blinking, it was a blocked pump, I emptied the washer, tilted it back, disconnected the hose from the pump (you will need towels) and clear out the pump, then put the hose back on.

That was 3 beeps I think, if your machine is beeping 5 times I believe that means the lid isn't closing properly.

Hi, we recently had a problem with our eziset 550 too! Ours would cut out intermiditedly at first and then it wouldn't even start. Instead all three coloured temp lights would flash a few times then just cut out and do nothing! I found out the machine thought that the lid was open but the sensor control was broken sending faulty signals to our much needed clothes washer.

In the side of the lid a little compartment holds a tiny but powerful magnet. This magnet makes a connection to what i assume is like some sort of mercury switch that when closed makes the machine run. I tried re-adjusting the magnet but it only worked for a day or two.

I'm not recommending to any one who feels less than competent to attempt what i did to finally fix my machine but it saved me much needed cash!!!.............So if your handy listen up.

The compartment with the magnet closes into a hollow inside the top of the machine. Under that hollow, there is a cable which holds the mercury switch and mine was either burnt out or one of the two wires running to the switch were loose or broken. I simply cut off the switch on the end of the cable covered in grey plastic. Then all you do is wire the two white wires together. I taped them up with electrical tape, turned it on and yeah baby!!! IT WORKED LIKE A DREAM. Only problem is that the machine works with the lid open or closed but i can live with that especially when i have a pause button so i can do it manually anyway.

Note always turn off all electrical equipment before tampering in any way and ALWAYS PULL THE POWER LEAD OUT OF THE WALL SOCKET aswell just as an extra precaution. Some equipment also have elctrical devices that can retain enough power to shock or even kill someone for a prolonged amount of time so always be Super Carefull, getting zapped is not fun, trust me!

Hello, hope you can help, I have a eziset 550 simpson when I put the water on it starts filling but won't stop I have to listen & try to change settings so the water that won't stop running doesn't...

there is a small hose from the bottom of the tub to the water level switch
that gets air pressure to activate a switch when the level selected overcomes the switch spring
At that point the water solenoid is turned off and the wash cycle begins
over flowing indicates that the level sensor is not working or the inlet solenoid and diaphragm is faulty
if it doesn't progress the wash cycle , that indicates a program board problem so call the technician for a proper diagnosis

Hi, my simpson eziset 950 when filling with water doesn't stop filling when the cycle starts. Water overflows all through the washing cycle. When I turn the tap of it stops filling.

there is a small tube running from the bottom of the tub up to a pressure switch in the control panel that is set by what ever wash level you want
when the pressure in that tube exceeds the pressure set by the knob it does 2 things
it turns off the inlet water solenoid to stop water coming in and then starts the wash cycle
as it is starting the wash cycle , it indicates that the stop solenoid for the water inlet is either still getting power or the stop valve is faulty
try replacing that water control valve first

Simpson eziset 550 stops at rinse cycle, light flashing

I had the same problem before, but removing the kink in drain hose does the trick. Maybe yours is more complicated but try it.
